Week 2
I think everyone was able to get connected. I enjoyed reading your introduction paragraphs. You have a variety of interests and backgrounds. Before you came to the United States, you probably had some impressions of Americans from the movies or from things you had read or heard. Now that you live here, write a paragraph about one or two things that have surprised you. These would be things that are different from what you had expected.

I heard about Yosemite National Park is very big park. When i had chance to go there, i went there with some of my friends. It was really really big big big big biger than National mountain in Korea.I got panic and couldn't see whole Yosemite National park what there are. other one that officer has serious governmental authority. It is most different between Korea and America.
ReplyDeleteThere are big surprise tings, but I want to talk about small things.
ReplyDeleteFirst, I'm surprised at free or discount for university student. In Korea, people consder university student as adult, they must pay money same as adult pay money.
Second, America has funny holiday such as Halloween. I don't experience not yet, but I can experience soon. In my think, Korea doesn't have a funny holiday.
Third, America is very big continent. In case of California, it is double wider than Korea. There are 50 states which is wide space in America, although I knew this fact arleady in my country, I'm very very surprised.
fourth, American is very chatty. I can see that a bus pasanger chat a bus driver when I take a bus. It is very great and I want to do. (I plan to chat a bus driver in this september.:) Give me some brave!!!)
Korea is charming as well as America is charming! I think just charming points are differnt between Korea and America. I was surprised, I'm surprised and I will be surprised at America!!!:)
There are a lot of different things in Japan and U.S.A..
ReplyDeleteHowever,I was suprised at the speed of the car in that. In U.S.A.,many cars run on the public road with the speed that is higer than spped to give on Japanese highway.
And in Carifornia,I can watch a squirrel routinely. In my country,I did not look.
I was suprised at the two things.
I was surprised at a bus with good equipments for wheelchair users. In Japan, some buses have good equipments for the wheelchair users, but most of the buses don’t have those equipments. I seldom see the wheelchair users in Japan, whereas in the United States, I can see them in several place because they can go anywhere through the good bus’s equipments. I think that Japan should think about equipment for disabled persons and old persons, like the United States.
ReplyDeleteYesterday,I asked a friend that why it haven't taxi in here. My friend told me if you want take taxi, you need call them in here, and it is so expensive to take taxi. This is very different with China. In China, you can see many taxi cars everywhere, if you want to take, you can take it easy. I aslo have a surprise thing in here. I can see very big squirrels in here, I can't see so much biger squirrels in my country, so I very like it.
ReplyDeletein here i see many clthes is cheap than my country and cars are cheap than my country, but here not have really tasty chinese food. here food tasty is so so. i think i like here and my country. it is both together.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, one is most surprised to me,
ReplyDeleteThat's greeting of American.
I often looked around my town.
Actually, I don't know anybody, except my relatives.
They greeted to me, 'hi, hello, how are you?'
At firt time, I was amazed to it.
However, I also greeted and smiled later.
When I take a bus, the same.
In my country, when we meet somebody on the street, we disregard eachother.
I think many American have warm-heart.
Fist,Two weeks ago, I was very sick, so I needed to go hospital. But in America hospital, they need appointment! always! In Korea, they don't need appoin. if i am sick, just I can go hospital now.
ReplyDeleteSecond, most of all restaurant in America, When I go to there, they always ask us "How many" and " fllow me." But, In Korea, when I go to restaurant, we can sit anywhere and not ask...
I was surprised about department store refund and ex-change service. For one reason. About four months ago, I bought sun glasses in macy's department store. Then, a few days latter, I was change my mind. So I wished to change sunglasses. But I was too busy everyday. Because of such a multitude of unlooked for incidents have baffled my plan. In the Meantime I could not care about sunglasses. One day, It suddenly occurres to me that I must change sunglasses. After then yesterday, I went to macy's department store. Next, I let a store clerk see a receipt and I said "I want to ex-change another sungalsses." As he changed my glasses without reserve. so i was satisfy with ex-change service.
ReplyDeleteThis situation is an impossible event in Korea. If I change a someting, I should get a receipt and I must not pass 3days in Korea.
Before I came here I usually watching American movie. First, for practices English language and for learn about American life styles. But when I arrive to U.S. I saw a lot of difference thing form I knew and my country. I was surprised. Because everything in U.S very big for me car, people, food especially sandwich very big OMG. I think one piece of sandwich I can eat about one week
